afternoon. a spectacular day enjoy it big changes coming for the weekend. we'll have more on that in a moment. let's check the roads with elizabeth. >> lawrence that's a cool shot of the fog blanketing the deck of the bay bridge. you can see the toll plaza as well this morning, in fact chp issued a dense fog advisory for the bay bridge and carquinez bridge but wouldn't be surprised if they increase throughout the morning because a lot of fog is out there especially across the spans of some of our bay area bridges making it difficult to see over at the san mateo bridge, as well. so they have not activated the cms warning signs yet across the span but obviously, visibility is really a problem this morning. don't use high beams, fog lights are a good idea. so far the drive time is 15 minutes between hayward and foster city. coming up an accident on highway 37. in the meantime, back to you guys. >> thank you. >>> free rides for san francisco city kids start today on muni. the pilot program offers lower income youth a free pass for 16 months. advocates have been pushing for the program for

thunderstorms at the coastline. changes though as we head in toward the weekend. i think if you like spring weather you will love the weekend. here's the low here going to slide all the way down into southern california in the next 24 hours so if you plan a trip in that direction be careful. expect some stormy weather there. computer models picking up on the system a lot of clouds early on and then toward the middle of the day in the afternoon you will notice those showers start to rotate onshore. with that core of the low coming close enough it may be just unstable enough to spark a couple of thunderstorms. now, as we head throughout the day we are going to see the moisture rotate through into the evening hours. and then this whole system is going to start to sag to the south. once it does it will drag that moisture with it. and we should begin to dry things out as we head in toward tomorrow. that should set the stage for a good weekend. temperatures around the bay area again will be cool. plan on highs only in the 50s. over the next couple of days, the showers coming to an end the

understand but without the control towers. >>> we have a few days away from big changes at the golden gate bridge. the board of directors would vote on increasing the speed limit from 15 miles an hour up to 25. then from earl -- drivers will have to use fast track or set up an account with their credit card or license plate. >>> let's check in with sal. you and your team are already busy and i know you're watching the east shore. >> that is right. we are looking at that east shore. as you drive out to the mccarthur maze you will see traffic is moving well. we also spoke of the golden gate bridge. if you are drying southbound you -- driving southbound you can watch for the right lane. let's go out and take a look at the east shore. from vallejo to berkeley it looks pretty good. there are no major problems if you are driving westbound. a lot ever o people consider it southbound. it's technically westbound 80. and no problems a couple days early this week i know bill would agree we had one that wasn't optimal for commuting but this morning i can't see a reason why it wouldn't be a pretty good

five-day forecast a little cooler for your thursday. no major changes with partly sunny skies by the weekend. >>> time now 5:10. the fatal crash just hours ago south of petaluma has shut down one lane of highway 101. tara moriarty is live near the marin-sonoma county border. you're there now so what happened? >> reporter: the coroner is on scene and they have taken pictures of the victim. they're trying to get an id on her. behind me you can see there is firefighters standing around. you can't see but there is a ditch there. and that is where the truck is. the woman's body was behind the wheel but they just removed it a couple minutes ago. firefighters will begin the task of trying to get the car out of the ditch. if we take a look at video shot earlier this morning. the chp says around 2:15 they received a 911 call from a passenger inside the truck who had been injured. we're just north of novato. south of petaluma along a very dangerous stretch of 101. the woman was driving northbound when she drifted into the center divide and officers say it looks like she over corrected and then

toll taking system. the board is voting to change the speed limit of the toll plaza from 15 miles an hour up to 25 miles an hour. then sometime between early tuesday morning and wednesday evening the last toll taker will leave the bridge. drivers will have to use a fast track or set up an account linked to a credit card and license plate number. >> it will be a big change. >> big change. yeah. >>> 4:38. speaking of traffic. sal what does it look like? >> it looks pretty good so far brian and pam. we are off to a decent start. there is one exception. unfortunately we are working a fatal crash in san jose. it's a body on the freeway. janine de la vega is out there right now talking to chp trying to get more information. but we have three lanes blocked. southbound 280 in the area of mclaughlin. you can see a heavy police presence here. southbound 280 still getting through. the body is there. the coroner has not arrived on the scene. this will cause delays if it stays out there for any length of time. now as you can see the traffic so far is down to one lane but it's very light. we're

hours here. the sweep is expected to begin today but it could be changed. plans could be changed because the ground is pretty muddy from a recent rain. between 100 and 160 people have been living in this homeless encampment near the guadalupe river one of about 60 camps throughout santa clara county but this has been more noticeable because it's in the flight path of the san jose international airport. so it's been spotted from the air. it quickly grew after another sweep of a homeless encampment nearby. a lot of folks moved over here. but it's been relatively peaceful here so far. >> police have been really good, the san jose police. we have not had any problems out here, crime going up. usually by the time it gets past dark, everybody goes in, in our community. >> reporter: the city says they will help them find housing and storage of belongings for 90 days. this gentleman says that he has already been offered help but a lot of people just don't want to live within the structure that is required when you go to live in a homeless shelter. as far as the clean-up, it will cost up
